As we all know, the DC metro area is notorious for its endless miles of construction zones, detour routes and crazy traffic jams. Don’t let the stress of driving to the stadium and finding a place to park ruin your tailgating mood. For the best parking and tailgating experience, check out these tips for FedEx Field.
Getting to the Stadium
Depending on who the Redskins are playing (like key division rivals – Philadelphia Eagles), traffic to the stadium backs up all the way to the Beltway. The good news is that there are multiple exits to get to all parking areas around the stadium—Landover Road, Arena Drive and Central Avenue. Due to its close proximity to the stadium, Landover Road and Arena Drive are the most popular. The Maryland State Highway Administration encourages fans to use Central Avenue to help minimize delays. For the least stressful experience, be sure to head to the stadium at least three hours before the start of the game.
